Hi sisters! I am Bethany Canny. Sean and I have been in the ward since 2012. Many of you know him as the Executive Secretary, and I teach Gospel Doctrine once per month.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Sean is mostly from Southern California. We met while serving as missionaries in the amazing state of Alaska. We adore the cold and tend to hibernate in summer. We have had the blessing of working at the same companies throughout our married life. We were at Ancestry since 2010 before moving to Family Search in Salt Lake City this past year. We had the great experience of serving together as ordinance workers in the Mt Timpanogos temple for 9 years.
We are currently on the adventure of seeking publication for our first book, and Illima Todd is our favorite publication pioneer! I have a great passion for poetry, philosophy, as well as young adult and children’s literature. I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis, Truman Madsen, Terryl and Fiona Givens, and Naomi Shihab Nye. I love to cook. We occasionally binge on “The Great British Baking Show.” If our car had a bumper sticker, it would probably read “I’d rather be at Cannon Beach, Oregon.” Above all, I love our Savior and I am so grateful for the continuing Restoration.
