Tell us about your family: parents? siblings? spouse? kids? grandkids?
I was raised all over the world since my dad was an officer in the Air Force, but ended up in Alaska and so consider that to be where I am “from”. I come from a family of 6 kids. My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have 3 children.
What do you and/or your spouse do for a living?
Britton just got a new job as the Director of Software and Technology at Hemplucid. I am a photographer and adjunct faculty at UVU.
What brought you to the area?
I moved to Utah after I completed my BFA in Fine Art Photography to work and apply to grad school. It was during that year that I met and dated my husband. He proposed and I stayed. One day I still intend to pursue an MFA.
I recommend everyone try ____________ at least once because:
I recommend everyone try a salt float experience. It’s so soothing and really an awesome way to reset and recharge. There’s lot of float places around Utah County and often a good deal can be found through deal sites, like groupon.
What activities inspire you or give you peace?
I am really into chakra energies and awareness of self through meditative yoga practices. Learning about this specific western medicine practice has really helped me feel centered, peaceful and has brought greater spiritual understanding to my life.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I’d encourage myself to let go of society’s expectations sooner and embrace all of the experiences that life has to offer. I’d tell myself to love more, to be less judgmental and to embrace peace from within.
Do you feel like you’ve found your “purpose” in life? If so, what is it?
My purpose centers around living mindfully and with intention daily. I strive to capture beauty, to bring awareness to light and beauty in all things, often sharing this through my photography.
How would you like people to remember you?
That I loved to travel and love my kids and husband fiercely.
