Tell us about your family: parents? siblings? spouse? kids? grandkids?
Drew and I were sealed in April 2016 and were blessed with twin boys just over a year later! We met at BYU through Concert Choir. My parents are Gary and Carma Huggard. We live in their basement apartment. I served a mission in the Czech Republic.
What do you and/or your spouse do for a living?
I am a stay-at-home mom. I love it! I graduated in Psychology with a minor in family studies. I’ve worked at Center for Change and at a counseling office as office manager. Drew has an M.A. in English. He is an adjunct professor at BYU and UVU this year.
What brought you to the area?
My family moved around since my dad was in the Air Force. I lived in Utah, Colorado, Texas, then back to Utah for most of my life. I’ve lived in this ward off and on since I was 15.
I recommend everyone try ____________ at least once because:
Hike Mount Timpanogos! Take the Timpooneke trail because it’s much more scenic and not as steep. It brings me a lot of peace to be there, plus it’s amazing to look up and think, “I’ve conquered that mountain!”
What activities inspire you or give you peace?
Absolutely worshipping in the temple, partaking of the sacrament, prayer and studying the scriptures/words of church leaders. Also, I love cuddling with my boys! They are so sweet and bring me a lot of joy.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Focus on trusting the Lord in everything and believing in good things to come. Focusing on Him also allows for the important parts of life to shine through and less important things to fall away.
Do you feel like you’ve found your “purpose” in life? If so, what is it?
I have known being a mother (and preparing myself for that until I became one) is a part of my purpose since I was very young. Being a faithful disciple of Christ, remembering my Divine heritage, and raising my children in righteousness
How would you like people to remember you?
I hope I’m remembered as a completely devoted wife and mother, a faithful and fearless disciple of Jesus Christ, and a genuine person who cares about others.
